Anais Nin:

"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations. "

Nin is a huge inspiration to me, she fought for and sacrificed things that I can not imagine. She battled with the ultimate freedom of objective truth (from within a deception no less!). I like this quote as it is affirmation to myself that all kinds of growth are beautiful, necessary and the order is irrelevant if one is aware. Nin seemed to understand she was to Miller as Maude Gone (sp?) was to Yeats - and yet at the same time she was strong enough not sacrifice her own creativity.
That.
And she wouldnt settle for Miller. Big Ups.
